Mathematical Asset Management
A practical approach to the mathematical tools needed to increase portfolio growth, learn successful trading strategies, and manage the risks associated with market fluctuation.
Mathematical Asset Management presents an accessible and practical introduction to financial derivatives and portfolio selection while also acting as a basis for further study in mathematical finance.
To further demonstrate the reality of the discussed concepts, the author analyzes five active stocks over a four-year period and highlights the different methods and portfolios that exist in today's economic world. Exercises are also provided throughout the text, along with the solutions, allowing readers to measure their understanding of presented techniques as well as see how the methods work in real life.

Mathematical Asset Management is an excellent book for courses in mathematical finance, actuarial mathematics, financial derivatives, and financial engineering at the upper-undergraduate and graduate levels. It is also a valuable reference for practitioners in banking, insurance, and asset management industries.

Download Cloud Computing Explained: Implementation Handbook for Enterprises [Kindle Edition]

Cloud Computing Explained
Cloud Computing Explained provides an overview of Cloud Computing in an enterprise environment. There is a tremendous amount of enthusiasm around cloud-based solutions and services as well as the cost-savings and flexibility that they can provide. It is imperative that all senior technologists have a solid understanding of the ramifications of cloud computing since its impact is likely to permeate the entire IT landscape. However, it is not trivial to introduce a fundamentally different service-delivery paradigm into an existing enterprise architecture.
This book describes the benefits and challenges of Cloud Computing and then leads the reader through the process of assessing the suitability of a cloud-based approach for a given situation, calculating and justifying the investment that is required to transform the process or application, and then developing a solid design that considers the implementation as well as the ongoing operations and governance required to maintain the solution in a partially outsourced delivery model.

Download : Liquid-Vapor Phase-Change Phenomena

Written By share_e on Saturday, April 14, 2012 | Saturday, April 14, 2012

Liquid-Vapor Phase-Change Phenomena
The book focuses on basic elements of condensation and vaporization processes. The basic physical mechanisms associated with a particular phase-change phenomenon are described in detail, followed by a representative sample of the best models applicable to the circumstances of interest. Throughout the text, the importance of the basic phenomena to a wide variety of applications is discussed.

My first impression of the book was that it would be a difficult reading.Nonetheless, after a few minutes brawsing the chapters it came evident that the book was very well written and organized. As an engineer, working in the aerospece industry, I definitely would recommend this book as a valuable resource. I would also encourage that in the next editions the authors provide more examples covering more variations of the discussed topics beyond those already provided. The book is a 5 star for sure and is also a reference in the field. Don't miss it.

There are very few books written exclusively focussing on Two Phase flow, and this is one of the very good books on that subject. It caters the interest of Mechanical engineers in large and also Chemical enginee.

Download : Diffusion: Mass Transfer in Fluid Systems

Diffusion: Mass Transfer in Fluid Systems
This overview of diffusion and separation processes brings unsurpassed, engaging clarity to this complex topic. Diffusion is a key part of the undergraduate chemical engineering curriculum and at the core of understanding chemical purification and reaction engineering. This spontaneous mixing process is also central to our daily lives, with importance in phenomena as diverse as the dispersal of pollutants to digestion in the small intestine. For students, Diffusion goes from the basics of mass transfer and diffusion itself, with strong support through worked examples and a range of student questions. It also takes the reader right through to the cutting edge of our understanding, and the new examples in this third edition will appeal to professional scientists and engineers. Retaining the trademark enthusiastic style, the broad coverage now extends to biology and medicine.

I feel that this is an excellent book for any student taking their first mass transport and separations course. This is the only science/engineering text book I have ever owned that I actually enjoyed reading. Professor Cussler is a very enthusiastic and brilliant expert on the subject (I am a student in his department, and was lucky enough to have him guest lecture for us) and it really shows in his writing style in this book.

This book manages to present the subject matter clearly starting from the basics and then logically and clearly building up to much more complex material, all while Professor Cussler walks you through the reasons why he is taking the steps he is, and how these steps are justified. This book is very frank and enthusiastic when presenting material (Professor Cussler makes sure to let you know if he is skipping steps, or what steps are common sources of confusion and to pay attention to these steps).
